The Original Kung Dang Thai Restaurant

Last weekend, we had a surprise party for my nephew’s 21st birthday at the Original Khun Dang Thai Restaurant on Sepulveda just south of Roscoe.

We held the party in the karakoe room to give us privacy. The room is modestly but nicely decorated. There’s even a fireplace which gives a homey feeling and cozy vibe to it.

Mexican Foods by George Foreman

Okay, it’s not what you think. George Foreman, himself is not making any Mexican foods. It’s me who’s making it in his George Foreman Grill.

This George Foreman grill has been very useful for us in making burger patties or grilling chicken, fish fillets or just about anything. My kids make grilled cheese sandwich on it, too. It’s easy to use because you just have to plug it. It sloped design channels fat away from food and into the dip tray. It’s also very easy to clean. All you have to do is wash the dip tray and wipe the plates with paper towel.

While this grill has been used many times in our household for may reasons, we never tried this in making any Mexican food until this weekend.

Lunch at Kyoto Seafood Buffet

Have you been to Kyoto, the newest buffet restaurant in Glendale? The place which just opened late December is the current buzz in town. Friends are all talking how good it is so my son and I decided to go one weekday.

I found out that the location is where the former Big Boy was. Parking was pretty easy because the lot is big. The place very busy considering it’s a weekday. The lady by the door was quick to greet and add my name to the list of customers waiting to be seated. She informed us that the wait was around 20 to 25 times but were called after only 12 minutes.

The place is clean but too small for the crowd the place is attracting. One side was entirely occupied by a group who’s celebrating someone’s birthday. How I wished that Kyoto had a separate room for gatherings like this because the group was making a lot of noise while we were eating.
