MANILA – Looks like Manny Pacquiao has a long way to go before retirement. This was declared by Top Rank promotions chief Bob Arum who had chatted with the Fighter of the Decade last December.
The boxing promoter Arum specified that the 8-division world champ Pacquiao still wants to extend his boxing career with at least 2 fights a year.
“Between 2011, 2012 and 2013, he plans to have 6 fights,” he said in a Boxingscene.com report.
Pacquiao is now set to trade punches against the former World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight “Sugar” Shane Mosley May 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After the fight with Mosley, the Pacman is expected to return in September or October for a second boxing match.
Where is Mayweather?
Arum was also asked regarding the much-wanted fight between Pacquiao and the undefeated Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
He said he, too, is eager for a fight but considering Mayweather’s recentcontroversies, the supposed “Fight of the Century” is again put to question. He added that he recently attempted to contact the boxer. He said he got ignored. – Philippine News
