Spirit Air strikes again with its impossibly-timed ads poking fun at the latest headlines. This time, the airline is taking on the news of the Schwarzenegger love child.

After news broke that the 25-year marriage of the Arnold and Maria Shriver ended with the revelation that Schwarzenegger fathered a love child, a son, nearly 20-years earlier with a member of his household staff, Mildred Patricia Baena.

Manny Pacquiao Releases Perfume and CD

Manny Pacquaio is all over the map these days. With his upcoming fight against Sugar Shane Mosley on May 7 in Las vegas, he still found time to launch his fragrance and release a CD.

Just like any pop stars and famous athletes have been doing at the height of their popularity, boxing champ Manny Pacquiao released a signature fragrance, MP8: Scent of a Champion. The cologne is described as “A top front punch of fresh bergamot, lemon, and citrus followed by combination punches of lavender, sage, vetiver, and a jab of nutmeg at the bottom.”

President Obama is Dead – Fox News Report

The news about Osama Bin Laden’s death is reported everywhere, from radio, TV and newspapers, from Twitter to Facebook, and the whole world is talking about it. Of course, the media is responsible to deliver reliable news to the public. That’s what you think but after watching this clip, I don’t know what to say.

Watch this clip shown by Fox News after its irresponsible news anchor made a terrible mistake. It’s so bad that instead of getting mad over it, I can’t help but laugh at it.

Do you think this guy still has his job after this major, major blunder?

Today is Easter Sunday! The Lord Has Risen!

Easter marks the end of Lent, a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. In the Philippines, Easter morning is marked with joyous celebration, the first being the dawn Salubong, wherein large statues of Jesus and Mary are brought in procession together to meet, imagining the first reunion of Jesus and his mother Mary after Jesus’ Resurrection. This is followed by the joyous Easter Mass and then a hearty breakfast consist of nilaga when we get home.

Here in the US, Easter is celebrated in an entirely different way. A traditional egg-hunting is done in churches or at homes where families hold reunions. Eggs are painted with different colors and designs. An Easter Bunny is used in a very similar trait like Santa Claus, as they both bring gifts to children. Easter baskets may also consist of peeps marshmallows and chocolates.

As we celebrate Christ’s resurrection, I leave this Easter message to you…

May the angels protect you, may the sadness forget you,
may goodness surround you, and may God always bless you…

Happy Easter to ALL!

Listen to Rebecca Black’s Friday Religious Parody

The past two days, in commemoration of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ, I had stayed away from posting articles which are not Lent-related. My last two articles were devoted to religious themes to stay relevant to the occasion.

What if you can be funny and remain religious at the same time? Is that even possible? Consider our prayers answered. Community Christian Church presents a parody (yes, another one) of Rebecca Black’s “Friday”. Church member, Sadie B. sings “Sunday” featuring BP and Master E.

So, enjoy watching and see accompanying lyrics…

Today is Good Friday

Good Friday, the Friday before Easter, commemorates the Passion and Death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. A day of strict fasting and abstinence, Catholics are allowed to eat only one complete meal and two smaller ones during the day without meat and no food in between.

In the Philippines, the day is commemorated with street processions, the Way of the Cross, the chanting of the Pasyon, and the staging of the Senakulo or Passion play. Church bells are not rung and Masses are not celebrated. In some communities, devotees engage in self-flagellation or crucifixion as expressions of penance.
