After news broke that the 25-year marriage of the Arnold and Maria Shriver ended with the revelation that Schwarzenegger fathered a love child, a son, nearly 20-years earlier with a member of his household staff, Mildred Patricia Baena.

Spirit Airlines, never one to shy away from controversy, has released a new ad on their website making fun of the former governor.

This isn’t, of course, the first time Spirit has hit below the belt.The airline also took on the now-famous Tiger Woods car crash in November 2009, with an “eye of the tiger” sale showing a tiger driving a car into a fire hydrant.

And, the airline touted its “winning” fares in its “Living the Dream Sale” in March of this year in making fun of Charlie Sheen.

Just like any pop stars and famous athletes have been doing at the height of their popularity, boxing champ Manny Pacquiao released a signature fragrance, MP8: Scent of a Champion. The cologne is described as “A top front punch of fresh bergamot, lemon, and citrus followed by combination punches of lavender, sage, vetiver, and a jab of nutmeg at the bottom.”

It was reported that Pacquiao, hilmself formulated this fragrance although I doubt that he even knows what bergamot and veviter are. But if you’re a diehard Pacquiao fan who doesn’t mind shelling $55, run to the Ron Robinson/Fred Segal store in Los Angeles.

Not only that, Pacquiao releases his single “Sometimes When We Touch”. Hear the snippet here….

I have to play this over and over again because he sounds so different when he sang this on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Thanks to autotune but I realized it was really him when I heard the lyrics when (pronounced win) and break (pronounced brik). And did he say spider at 0:11?

Mark your calendars on May 1, 2011 for this is the day that Pope John Paul II will be beatified. The recovery of a French nun, Sister Marie Simon-Pierre from Parkinson’s disease was the miracle needed for John Paul to be beatified. A second miracle is needed for him to be canonized a saint.

Born as Karol Wojtyla in 1920, John Paul was the youngest pope in 125 years and the first non-Italian in 455 years when he was elected pontiff in 1978. He brought a new vitality to the Vatican, and quickly became the most accessible modern pope, sitting down for meals with factory workers, skiing and wading into crowds to embrace the faithful. He reached out to the poor, the neglected, those of other faiths, even the man who shot him in an assassination attempt in 1981. After suffering for years from the effects of Parkinson’s, he died on April 2, 2005 at the age of 84.

The selection of May 1, the first Sunday after Easter, as the beatification date is significant. It’s the Feast of Divine Mercy, which John Paul himself inaugurated in 2000 after canonizing Sister Faustina Kowalska to whom he was particularly devoted.

Once he is beatified, John Paul will be given the title “blessed” and can be publicly venerated, or worshipped.

Here in the US, Easter is celebrated in an entirely different way. A traditional egg-hunting is done in churches or at homes where families hold reunions. Eggs are painted with different colors and designs. An Easter Bunny is used in a very similar trait like Santa Claus, as they both bring gifts to children. Easter baskets may also consist of peeps marshmallows and chocolates.

In the Philippines, the day is commemorated with street processions, the Way of the Cross, the chanting of the Pasyon, and the staging of the Senakulo or Passion play. Church bells are not rung and Masses are not celebrated. In some communities, devotees engage in self-flagellation or crucifixion as expressions of penance.

After three o’clock in the afternoon, the faithful are urged to keep a very solemn and prayerful disposition until Easter Sunday. Noise and merriment is highly discouraged, while businesses close, and some radio and television stations close down. Other television networks show movies on the lives of Christ and the Saints or broadcast the day’s rites live from Catholic churches which include the reading of the Siete Palabrás, the recitation of the Stations of the Cross, and the Commemoration of the Lord’s Passion.

How did you commemorate the Death of Jesus on Good Friday?

Two important events are the focus of Maundy Thursday. First, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples and instituted the Communion. Second, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet, thereby setting an example of humility and service.

In the Philippines, business establishments cease operations from Holy Thursday to Black Saturday. Television and radio stations either go completely off-air or broadcast special shows themed for the Holy Week. Newspapers usually have no issues during those days. Filipinos carry out the tradition of Visita Iglesia (Church visits) of fourteen churches and say the Stations of the Cross, with one station in each church.

The word “Maundy” is derived from the Latin word for “command” which refers to the command Jesus gave to the disciples at the Last Supper, that they should love and serve one another. How did you observe Maundy Thursday?

As you already know by now, Rebecca Black’s mother paid $4,000 of her own money to Ark Music,a production company to write for her daughter music and lyrics, shoot the video, record and produce the track, add a rapper, and package it all together.

Two months after the video was uploaded in YouTube, the song has been viewed over 100 million times. And what would be a more appropriate congratulatory gift for Rebecca? Yap, her mom paid for a digital billboard located at the corner of LaBrea and San Vincente in Los Angeles and read “It’s Friday, Friday, Friday! 100 million+ views! Rebecca Black youtube.com”.
